News Editor

The Markup

The News Editor will oversee a team of reporters and freelancers who will persistently monitor and uncover the ways that tech affects people. They will produce well-reported, creatively told short- and medium-term enterprise stories, accountability stories, graphics and explainers that will be published at least twice a week on the website.

The News Editor will not only provide wordsmithing but will also probe the accuracy and depth of the reporting and raise questions about tone and fairness. S/he will work with the copy editor, graphics editor and legal counsel to carry the stories across the finish line to publication.

Copy Editor

ProPublica – New York (NY)

In this role, you’ll work in tandem with our assistant managing editor for standards to maintain the high quality our stories, to manage the flow of copy and to publish our work online.

The job is full time and includes benefits. ProPublica is based in New York City, but we are open to remote applicants. We are also open to relocating you in accordance with our policies.

The Saturday Evening Post magazine continues to look for and publish great short stories by both emerging and established authors.

In addition to publishing one short story in every print issue of the Post, we welcome submissions to our online fiction platform New Fiction Friday. Each week, we feature fresh fiction from authors all over the country, bringing you exciting adventures and engrossing stories from writers just like you, available exclusively online.

For New Fiction Friday stories, we pay $25 for first exclusive online publication rights for six months; payment for stories selected for print will be negotiated separately.

Investopedia is looking for a remote editor to join our growing team. As an editor, you will revise and augment existing articles to improve the user experience and drive additional traffic. This is a remote position, but applicants must live within the United States and be able to commit at least 20 hours per week (with a maximum weekly commitment of 40 hours). The successful candidate must provide clips that demonstrate their expertise with relevant subject matter. The rate is $30 per hour.

Law360 is looking for an Assistant Managing Editor to oversee a team of reporters. AMEs assign news stories and features, oversee and organize daily newsletters, and train and coach new reporters. Freelance Content Writer

We are seeking a reliable and experienced content writer, to produce various types of content for Wikimotive and its clients on a contract basis.

Our content writing needs span a diverse range of project types and sizes, with most of Wikimotive’s clientele being auto dealerships. Most assignments are around 1200-1500 words.

A freelance content writer for Wikimotive can expect a steady supply of projects, typically ranging from 10 to 50+ articles per month. Before each month we will ask you for your availability and fill as much of it as possible.
